This Privacy Policy explains how Dorek Travel (“Dorek”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our website, mobile services, and rental marketplace (together, the “Platform”). It applies to both customers and vendors (car owners, car dealers, and car rental companies) who interact with our services.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Personal Information: Name, phone number, email address, residential or business address, location, national ID/passport details or driver’s licence (where required for rentals, verification, or legal compliance).
- Account & Profile Information: Login credentials, profile photo, contact preferences, vendor business name, company registration details, and profile descriptions.
- Vehicle & Listing Information: Vehicle details (make, model, registration, mileage), pricing, availability, photos, documents, and descriptions provided by vendors.
- Transaction & Financial Information: Booking details, rental and purchase history, payment amounts, chosen vendor plan (for example commission or subscription), subscription status, vendor account balances, payout and withdrawal details, and limited payment reference data from payment providers (we do not store full card numbers or PINs).
- Usage & Technical Data: IP address, device type, operating system, browser type, pages visited, clicks, time spent, and other interaction data collected via cookies and similar technologies.
- Communication Data: Messages, inquiries, reviews, and other communications you send to us or through the Platform (for example, between customers and vendors where routed via Dorek).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate and improve the Platform and to provide our services, including to:
- Register and manage your customer or vendor account.
- Process bookings, rentals, purchases, payments, refunds, and vendor payouts.
- Administer vendor pricing models, including calculating and charging platform commissions and vendor subscription fees, and keeping records of vendor plan choices.
- Verify identity and perform checks aimed at preventing fraud, abuse, and unauthorised use.
- Display vendor listings and connect customers with suitable vehicles and services.
- Communicate booking confirmations, reminders, alerts, and customer support responses.
- Personalise and improve the Platform, including analytics, performance monitoring, and UX improvements.
- Send you service-related notices and, where permitted, marketing or promotional messages (with the option to opt out of marketing at any time).
- Comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations in Zimbabwe and other applicable jurisdictions.
3. Additional Information for Vendors
For vendors (car dealers, rental companies, and private car owners):
- We collect business and contact information to set up and manage your vendor profile, listings, billing method (commission or subscription), and payouts.
- Vehicle details, pricing, availability, and images you upload may be shown publicly to customers on the Platform.
- Depending on the vendor plan you choose, Dorek Travel may charge a percentage commission on each completed booking or sale and/or a recurring subscription fee for access to the Platform and related services. We keep records of these charges and payments for accounting and compliance purposes.
- Vendors may list unlimited vehicles, subject to compliance with our Terms of Use and quality standards.
- We may use aggregated and anonymised vendor performance data for analytics, reporting, pricing optimisation, and service improvement. This data does not identify individual vendors or customers.
4. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to recognise your browser or device and to help us improve your experience. These technologies help us to:
- Keep you logged in and maintain your session.
- Remember your preferences and recently viewed items.
- Measure site traffic, usage patterns, and performance.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, but some parts of the Platform may not function properly if cookies are disabled.
5. Legal Bases for Processing
Where required by law, we rely on the following legal grounds to process personal data:

- With vendors: We share relevant booking and contact details with vendors to enable them to provide rentals or complete sales.
- With customers: For vendors, selected contact and vehicle information is displayed to customers for the purpose of enquiries, bookings, and rentals.
- With service providers: Third parties that help us operate the Platform, such as payment gateways, banks, hosting providers, analytics tools, SMS/email providers, subscription billing providers, and IT support. These parties are required to handle data securely and only for the purposes we specify.
- For legal reasons: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, or lawful requests from authorities, or to protect our rights, property, safety, or that of others.
- Business transfers: If we undergo a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to continued protection consistent with this Policy.

Our servers or some of our service providers may be located outside Zimbabwe. Where information is transferred to other countries, we take reasonable steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data.

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites, apps, or services (such as payment gateways or social media). We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or policies of those third parties. We recommend that you review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
12. Children’s Privacy
Our services are not intended for children under 18 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.
